1. A friend on Facebook moaning about not finding a dress and crying in the shop got loads of replies, all along the lines of "but you wedding is about the love for your man, not a dress". Seriously? Do we care?
2. My housemate spent the evening asking about where I would want to get married and wouldn't my religious parents prefer me engaged, at least, before buying a house with my boyfriend (they would but we are looking anyway), then saying "ooh he's looking a bit annoyed" as, oh, did I forget to say, my boyfriend was sat next to me! Thanks. Then, she handed me a catalogue for a wedding shop to look at that she'd got, as she's planning her wedding, with her bloke who proposed after a year because he loves her so much! (unlike my boyfriend of almost 4 years!)
How to make someone feel slightly shit.
This is the friend who kind of inspired my blog though, having asked me to be bridesmaid but then retracting the offer as she said my face fell! Oops. I thought I was a much better actress.
Mental note brides: don't make your unengaged friends who clearly want to be engaged answer awkward questions in front of their blokes (or preferably at all). Karma ok!
